About the Director

Provident Lawyers was founded by Yikai Hoe in March 2018. Yikai graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacology)(Hons). He was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia in 2008, and the High Court of Australia in 2010.

Yikai enjoys practicing in superannuation and tax law and has a keen interest in all aspects relating to SMSFs. He enjoys assisting his superannuation clients and professional advisers by providing legal solutions on all issues ranging from compliance matters for fund investments to tailoring estate planning strategies for clients with SMSFs. As a small business owner, Yikai is also passionate in assisting small business clients with overcoming legal challenges and hurdles which are often met by small businesses when commencing and running their operations.

Yikai was also a tax consultant for 3 years in a top-tier accounting firm, specialising in indirect taxation and state duties. He then joined a boutique law firm specialising in superannuation and taxation law for 8 years before he decided to establish Provident Lawyers.

Yikai speaks several Asian languages including Cantonese, Hokkien and Mandarin and is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience. He has presented at Legalwise Seminars and the Tax Institute of Australia on various superannuation and tax topics. He is designated as a Chartered Tax Adviser by the Tax Institute of Australia and is also accredited as an SMSF Specialist Advisor with the SMSF Association.
